In 2023, I helped to produce and launch Maya Lin’s first-ever generative art project: "Ghost Forest Seedlings," with Pace Gallery.

The project’s release coincided with Climate Week as part of Lin’s longstanding artistic investigations of phenomena in the natural world.

Starting with an algorithm that mirrors nature’s generative code, L-systems, each artwork depicts a seed or group of seeds that grows over time into an intricate root system.

Since her very first work, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington D.C., Lin has cultivated a highly acclaimed career in the fields of both art and architecture. She was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by U.S. President Barack Obama in 2016, and TIME magazine named Lin one of the year’s most influential people in 2022.
