concert venue designs

In May 2018, the band "Glass Animals" came to perform at Stanford. There was a competition held for students to submit designs that would be used to decorate Stanford Stadium, which was the concert venue for this event.

For my submission, I was inspired by one of Glass Animals' songs called "Pork Soda." Specifically, I wanted to visually represent the lyrics to this song: "... pineapples are in my head."

I created a series of portraits, featuring women with fruit, flora and fauna on top of their heads. These works were also an homage to the Bermudian female figures that played such an instrumental role in my upbringing on the island.

I was fortunate to have my work selected to hang at the main entrance to Stanford Stadium for the event. In addition, I was asked to create smaller sized, framed versions of these works for the Stanford Concert Network to gift to each member of the Glass Animals band.
